Ivan

Working on Ivan, the gorilla, was one of the most rewarding projects in my career. I had the privilege of working hands-on as the main artist on the entire skin sculpting and texturing, and also fur texturing and lookdev, while collaborating on aspects of the skin lookdev.

Our extensive reference research helped create an accurate and detailed asset; he is the result of the dedication of a small and close-knit team.

Ivan was nominated at the 19th VES Awards for "Outstanding Animated Character in a Photoreal Feature," and I had the honor of winning a VES alongside my team members. Ivan also served as a template for the texturing and lookdev of other gorillas in the movie and other MPC shows.
